Primary Research Interest:
Proteins of Streptococcus pneumoniae which are involved in membrane transport of small charged molecules and processing of surface-exposed antigens.

Other Activities:
Member of three national, multicenter programs investigating the epidemiology and molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in a variety of human bacterial pathogens.
